At triple the size of our current infrastructure, Stevenson’s new Emergency Department will fast-track care. Patients move from a dedicated entrance and waiting room through a series of treatment zones custom-designed and outfitted to support patients requiring everything from stitches to trauma care.

Immediately adjacent to the Emergency Department, the Diagnostic Imaging Suite will offer a comprehensive and rare combination of advanced imaging technology for a hospital of our size, including Stevenson’s first MRI, two CT scanners, and three x-ray machines.

Stevenson’s ground-floor surgical suites will feature two major operating rooms and an endoscopy procedure room that is OR-compatible. All suites will support the latest surgical technologies, including minimally invasive procedures with a future capacity for robotic technologies.

42 bright and spacious private rooms, each with an ensuite washroom and space for visitors, will span the second-floor inpatient unit.

Designed with our community’s rapidly growing family demographic in mind, Stevenson’s Obstetrics/Birthing Unit features a fully functioning operating room and will occupy most of the entire third floor with direct elevator access to reduce exposure to other hospital units.

Relocating and upgrading Stevenson’s helipad to the southeast side of the hospital property will allow for direct and rapid access to the Emergency Department, while reducing the impact of air ambulance operations on neighbouring properties and improving flight safety during windy conditions.

Philanthropy will fund 100 percent of the new hospital’s equipment and furniture, ranging from stretchers and inpatient recliners to surgical instruments and monitoring technologies.
