A Taxing Situation Deepens Its Commitment with Another $25,000 Gift to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation

[New Tecumseth, ON – July 17, 2026] – The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is celebrating the continued commitment of A Taxing Situation after receiving another generous gift of $25,000. A long-time and dedicated supporter of the Foundation, A Taxing Situation has once again stepped forward to support the needs of our local Hospital.
As Stevenson Memorial Hospital continues its redevelopment into a larger, more modern health care facility, community support remains essential. Donations like this help fund the equipment and technology needed to provide exceptional care today, while also helping build a hospital that will meet the needs of South Simcoe's rapidly growing population for generations to come.
“We are grateful for the support we receive from the community. Giving to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital is our way of showing our gratitude,” says Rob Katzman, Owner and Tax Preparation Specialist, A Taxing Situation.
Through The Morningview Foundation's Every Dollar Counts $4 million matching gift initiative, A Taxing Situation's donation will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling its impact to $50,000 in support of Stevenson Memorial Hospital's ongoing capital equipment needs and redevelopment.
“Supporters like A Taxing Situation are the heart of this community. Rob and his team have shown up for this Hospital and for the people it serves, and that kind of steadfast, dedicated commitment is what makes transformational change possible. We are deeply grateful for their continued generosity and proud to count them among our most loyal friends,” says Dr. Ted Vandevis, Chief Executive Officer, Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The Because of YOU campaign is a bold and ambitious effort to raise $80 million through community support to help meet the ongoing capital & equipment needs of the hospital and build the future Stevenson Memorial Hospital. This transformational project will more than double the size of the hospital, providing expanded emergency care and advanced diagnostic imaging. This includes Stevenson’s first MRI suite, modern inpatient facilities, and specialized surgical services - all designed to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our growing community. As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2028, we stand on the threshold of a new era. With the support of our community, we will build a hospital for today and for generations to come, Because of YOU.
