Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation Announces the Success of $1 Million Matching Gift Supporting the Because of YOU Campaign
New Tecumseth, Ontario — [August 30, 2025] — The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is proud to announce the remarkable success of the “Building Your Stevenson for Tomorrow, Together” $1 million matching gift initiative, launched in partnership with Brian and Kathy Gibson. This campaign has successfully doubled the impact of community donations toward the hospital’s vital redevelopment project.
Since its inception on September 1, 2024, the initiative has inspired overwhelming community support, with donations pouring in from individuals, local businesses, and organizations across the region. The $1 million matching effort has already surpassed expectations, demonstrating the community’s unwavering commitment to ensuring an enhanced healthcare facility for generations to come.

The Because of You campaign is a bold and ambitious effort to raise $80 million through community support to help build the future of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. This transformational project will triple the size of our hospital, providing expanded emergency care and advanced diagnostic imaging, including Stevenson’s first MRI suite, modern inpatient facilities, and specialized surgical services, all designed to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our growing community. As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2028, we stand on the threshold of a new era, just as our founders did nearly a century ago.
