It’s time to lace up those shoes!
The 2024 New Tecumseth Memorial 5K run/walk, supporting the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, is OPEN FOR REGISTRATION.
The run/walk event will start and finish at PPG Park, Alliston. A beautiful 5k route through Alliston will bring you past Stevenson Memorial Hospital, which will inspire and motivate participants, patients, the community, and staff.

Lorne & Sandy Downey Joins The 2024 SMHF Realtor Challenge
Lorne and Sandy Downey have again committed to participating in the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s (SMHF) Realtor Challenge.
For every home sold in New Tecumseth through the end of 2024, Lorne and Sandy Downey will contribute $100 to SMHF.
The Downey’s, whose family has been part of the New Tecumseth community since 1846, has a profound connection to the area. With Sandy being a recent cancer survivor, they understand the critical need for high-quality healthcare and are committed to supporting SMHF’s fundraising efforts.
Lorne has been a real estate agent for over 12 years, while Sandy, after a 30-year career with TD Bank, became a licensed real estate agent four years ago. They are dedicated to positively impacting our community and are excited to support SMHF.

Jody J Levac Legacy Fund
A group of community philanthropists is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jody J Levac Legacy Fund in honor of Jody Levac, the Hospital’s President and CEO, who recently announced his retirement. This is the first legacy fund in honour of a hospital President & CEO established in Simcoe County, Ontario. This fundraising initiative aims to celebrate and honour Mr. Levac’s outstanding contributions to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital and his dedication to advancing healthcare in our community while creating a legacy gift in his name.
Donations made to the Jody J Levac Legacy Fund will be generously matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, thanks to other community donors: Sylvia Biffis, Dr. Ted Vandevis, Rory MacKinnon, Darlene Blendick, Gary Sim, Mike Martin, Brian & Patricia Snell, Alan Dresser, John Swinden, and Debbie Hudson, doubling the impact of every contribution. The funds raised will be directed towards a future naming opportunity within the new hospital building, ensuring that Mr. Levac’s vision for quality community healthcare in Simcoe County continues to thrive for years to come.

Nottawasaga Foundation Golf Tournament
Mark your calendars for the 2023 Nottawasaga Foundation Golf Tournament on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Last year, the Nottawasaga Foundation Golf Tournament was able to raise an incredible $317,000, bringing the total amount over the past 31 years to more than $7.5 million dollars.
Due to the success of the event, the Nottawasaga Foundation was able to pledge their ongoing commitment to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, for $1 million, to support our Because of you, we can Campaign.
Participation in the annual Nottawasaga Foundation Golf Tournament also supports local Food Banks, the Community Living Association of South Simcoe, and many more vital local charities and programs in Simcoe County.
