Alectra Utilities pledges $5,000 to Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s Level 2 ICU

The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is pleased to announce Alectra Utilities has generously pledged $5,000 to Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s (SMH) Level 2 ICU, named the High Acuity Unit (HAU).

In January 2021, SMH celebrated the completion of the HAU, marking a major milestone in the Hospital’s history! The newly renovated space will provide the right environment to ensure optimal care for patients with advanced care needs.

Alectra Utilities has been a long-time supporter of the Hospital, generously contributing over $37,000 since 2017 for various Hospital initiatives, including the purchase of vital equipment.

“We’re proud to support Stevenson’s Memorial Hospital so they can continue providing care for the residents of Alliston and the surrounding areas. Patients can now receive the advanced care and treatment they need closer to home. We thank SMH and their dedicated health care team for their commitment and ongoing service to our communities.” – Brian Bentz, President and CEO, Alectra Inc.

“I am incredibly proud of our team of staff who continued to manage this project amongst many competing demands during the pandemic,” says Jody Levac, President and CEO, SMH. “This is a significant improvement to our facility as we wait for the redevelopment of our Hospital,” he adds.

The Central LHIN and Critical Care Services Ontario (CCSO) provided $1 million to support and approve the project, but not enough to cover the additional costs related to the build, including equipment and technology, so gifts like Alectra Utilities are instrumental in fully equipping the new space.

In October 2019, the SMHF launched a $43 million Capital Campaign, Because of you, we can, in support of the Hospital’s redevelopment project, as well as critical equipment and technology upgrades. The completion of the HAU is just one step closer to SMH’s goal of enhanced infrastructure, equipment and technology.

Please consider making a donation to help raise the remaining funds required for the HAU. For more information about the Because of you, we can Capital Campaign or to make a donation visit www.transformingstevenson.ca
