Faris Team Real Estate Brokerage Donates $16,500 to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation – Selects SMHF as Alliston Charity Partner for 2022
[New Tecumseth, ON – July 11, 2022] – The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is honoured to be chosen as Faris Team Real Estate Brokerage’s charity partner for Alliston for a second time, having first been selected as the partner of choice in 2021. Last year’s partnership resulted in $16,500 raised for SMHF. Mark Faris from Faris Team presented the proceeds to Mary Thomas, CEO, SMHF, this past Friday.
Under the Faris Cares program, $100 from each home bought or sold by Faris Team’s Alliston location will be donated to the SMHF to support the hospital’s priority needs. Faris Team recently challenged fellow community realtors to make a similar commitment. To date the challenge has inspired an additional four realtors from a variety of brokerages to join the challenge and donate a portion of proceeds from homes bought or sold to SMHF.
Funds raised by Faris Team will support the Because of you, we can Capital Campaign – the largest and most significant campaign in the Foundation’s history. The campaign is currently at 65% of its $43 million goal to redevelopment the hospital and implement critical equipment and technology upgrades.

The Because of you, we can Campaign is the largest campaign in the SMHF’s history, supporting the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The hospital’s redevelopment plan includes a revitalized Emergency Department, doubling the square footage of the hospital and tripling the amount of parking space. Refreshed outpatient rooms, birthing suites and laboratory space are also included in the plans. With an Emergency Department built to manage 7,000 visits a year that currently manages close to 40,000 per year, along with a growing population in south Simcoe and surrounding communities, this redevelopment is needed today and for future generations.
