Stevenson Memorial Hospital

Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation

A leader in charitable giving is right in our own community.

Editorial by Dr. Ted Vandevis

I love the Canadian Blood Services’ tagline “It’s in You to Give.” All of us in some way, shape or form are able to give something somewhere. It’s part of our DNA. An incredible example of giving is right in our own communities where the Nottawasaga Foundation has donated over $6.3 million to worthwhile local charities. The Foundation was formed in 2001 by the Biffis and Lombardi families to help support local causes. In addition to having given in the millions of dollars to support Stevenson Memorial Hospital, they have also given generously to many other organizations that serve our community.

What a track record of giving. Two people who rise to the top as dedicated givers in our communities are Lou and Sue Biffis of the Nottawasaga Inn Resort & Conference Centre and the Nottawasaga Foundation. They have and continue to lead by example and are an inspiration to all of us to give to causes in our communities that mean a lot to us.

If you appreciate what Lou, Sue and their family have done for our charities, please do your share and make a meaningful gift from your family for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024. Together we need to raise $43 million in support of our hospital’s redevelopment, equipment needs and technology.

And, by the way, aren’t we fortunate to have Lou and Sue’s daughter Sylvia Biffis as our Because of you, we can Campaign Cabinet Chair, leading the charge on our behalf? Clearly the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Make your donation today and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million, thanks to The Morningview Foundation! Your gift means that Stevenson Hospital can provide critical equipment and services to patients today, and get closer to a redeveloped hospital tomorrow
