Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation Celebrates its “Your Greatest Chance, to meet our Greatest Needs” $750,000 Matching Gift from The Morningview Foundation
[New Tecumseth, July 4, 2023] – Now is “Your Greatest Chance, to meet our Greatest Needs”. The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is excited to announce the launch of their “Your Greatest Chance, to meet our Greatest Needs” match program, made possible by an extraordinary donation from The Morningview Foundation. From July 1, 2023, until December 31, 2023, new contributions towards our “greatest needs” will be generously matched by The Morningview Foundation on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to $750,000.
“I thank The Morningview Foundation for their continued support of our hospital,” says Jody Levac, President and CEO, of SMH. “Whether it’s critical equipment needs, technology upgrades, or for our redevelopment project, fundraising is so critical. I thank our donors for their dedication and support so far and hope that this next matching opportunity inspires others to give, as these are important needs for our patients, staff, and hospital overall.”
Like other hospitals in Ontario, our operations rely on the generosity of individuals within our communities, enabling us to procure and enhance essential medical equipment and provide exceptional healthcare close to home. By donating to our “greatest needs,” which allows for unrestricted use of the funds, we gain the flexibility to invest where it is most needed, significantly impacting our medical staff, advancing community healthcare, and saving lives.
“We are immensely grateful to The Morningview Foundation for their transformative matching gift,” stated Mary Thomas, CEO of SMHF. “This generous contribution will double the impact of new donations and empower us to address our greatest needs, ensuring exceptional healthcare for our community. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and medical staff.”
The Morningview Foundation firmly believes that our expanding community necessitates a modernized healthcare facility to meet our growing requirements. Alongside the redevelopment of the hospital, there is an urgent need to acquire state-of-the-art equipment, with the best source of donations being those that are given to our greatest needs.
“We recognize the necessity of giving to the greatest needs of Stevenson Memorial Hospital and helping provide a high-quality healthcare facility while addressing the needs of a growing community,” says The Morningview Foundation “Our vision for this matching gift is to inspire the community to support the foundation in achieving its fundraising objectives.”
Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is a community healthcare facility in New Tecumseth that services south Simcoe and surrounding communities. Currently, SMH has around 40,000 patients come through the doors each year of its Emergency Department, originally built to only service 7,000. Like all Ontario hospitals, we depend on donations from people within the communities we serve to help purchase or upgrade equipment to help provide high-quality healthcare close to home. Giving to our “greatest needs,” a gift without conditions on how the donation may be used, allows us the flexibility to invest where it is needed most to make an impact on medical staff while continuing to improve community healthcare and save the lives of patients.
