McHappy Day Alliston and Angus McDonald’s Locations Raise $10,000 for the Redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital

[New Tecumseth, ON – May 28, 2024] – We are delighted to announce that McDonald’s locations in Alliston and Angus have once again demonstrated their unwavering support for the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) by donating $10,000 from this year’s McHappy Day held on May 8, 2024.

The generosity and community support shown during this annual event will help to bring the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) closer to raising the local share required for redevelopment.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to McDonald’s in Alliston and Angus for their outstanding achievement in raising $10,000 for the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation during McHappy Day,” says Melody McLean, Director of Development and Campaign Manager for SMHF. Witnessing local businesses like McDonald’s join forces with community members to foster positive change is truly inspiring.”

“On behalf of Stevenson Memorial Hospital, I would like to thank McDonald’s Alliston and Angus for their continued commitment to supporting our cause, including our much-needed redevelopment,” says Julia Mullen, VP of Clinical Services and CNE, SMH.

“We are grateful to SMHF and the numerous community volunteers who contributed to the success of McHappy Day,” said Rory MacKinnon, Owner/Operator of McDonald’s in Alliston and Angus. The enthusiasm and generosity of our community is remarkable. We are proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities and other community charities such as the Stevenson Memorial Hospital.”

The Because of you, we can Campaign is the largest campaign in SMHF’s history. Donations received help purchase essential equipment, upgrade technology, and complete critical renovations essential to the transformation and redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital.  The hospital’s redevelopment plan includes a new Emergency Department that will triple in size. With an Emergency Department built to manage 7,000 visits a year that currently manages close to 40,000 per year, along with a growing population in south Simcoe and surrounding communities, this redevelopment is needed today and for future generations.
