Canadian Tire’s “Blooms for a Cause” Initiative Plants Hope with a $6,000 Donation to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Because of YOU Campaign
[New Tecumseth, ON – July 9, 2025] – The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is pleased to announce a generous donation of $6,000 from Canadian Tire in Alliston, raised through their successful 2nd Annual “Blooms for a Cause” fundraising initiative. This heartfelt contribution continues the tradition of community support that directly benefits healthcare services in our region.
Building on last year’s success, Canadian Tire set an ambitious goal to sell 2,500 hanging baskets this year—up from 1,500 in 2024. Thanks to the incredible support from customers and community members, the initiative surpassed expectations, selling a remarkable 2,995 baskets. The funds raised from these sales, with $2 of each purchase donated to SMHF, help ensure that our community continues to receive exceptional healthcare close to home. This initiative not only enhances the beauty of our community but also fosters wellness, hope, and resilience within it.

The Because of You campaign is a bold and ambitious effort to raise $80 million through community support to help build the future of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. This transformational project will triple the size of our hospital, providing expanded emergency care and advanced diagnostic imaging, including Stevenson’s first MRI suite, modern inpatient facilities, and specialized surgical services, all designed to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our growing community. As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2028, we stand on the threshold of a new era, just as our founders did nearly a century ago.
