Nottawasaga Foundation Contributes $100,000 to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation Capital Campaign
[New Tecumseth – September 23, 2021] On Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 the Nottawasaga Foundation presented their fifth $100,000 installment of a $1 million pledge made to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF).
To celebrate their 25th Anniversary in 2017, The Nottawasaga Foundation and the Biffis family pledged $1 million over 10 years towards the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s $43 million, Because of you, we can Campaign. The pledge supports the Hospital’s redevelopment project, as well as equipment and technology needs.
A portion of the funds presented were raised via the Nottawasaga Foundation’s virtual golf fundraising event this past summer, with funds raised through corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
“South Simcoe is in desperate need of an updated hospital facility. The Nottawasaga Foundation is proud to help make that happen,” says Sylvia Biffis, Nottawasaga Foundation and Capital Campaign Chair. “The success of this campaign is up to you, me and the commitment of our community to raise $43 Million for our hospital and I know we can do it,” she adds.
The Biffis Family have been dedicated supporters of the Hospital for many years, including advocating for the re-opening of the Obstetrics/Birthing Unit in 2008, supporting digital mammography and maternal child advisory programs.
“Thank you to the Nottawasaga Foundation and the Biffis Family for leading the way forward. They have stepped up time and time again to support Stevenson Memorial Hospital, to ensure health care remains close to home in South Simcoe. The time is now to join them and help make a revitalization a reality,” says Mary Thomas, CEO, SMHF.
Making a meaningful gift towards this goal will ensure that you will have an expanded, modernized health care facility that meets your needs, your family’s needs, and the needs of our growing community.
Together we will reach the $43 million Because of you, we can Campaign goal.
