Rotary Club of Alliston Contributes $10,000 Pledge Payment to Stevenson
Memorial Hospital Redevelopment
[New Tecumseth, ON – March 14, 2022] – The Rotary Club of Alliston made a $10,000 donation
to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) as part of a $50,000 commitment to the
Because of you, we can campaign. Rotarian Patrician Middlebrook was on site at Stevenson
Memorial Hospital (SMH) to present the cheque.
“On behalf of The Rotary Club of Alliston, we are proud to present this installment towards our
total pledge of support for the redevelopment of our community hospital,” says Patricia
Middlebrook, President, Rotary Club of Alliston. “The members of the Rotary Club of Alliston are
proud supporters of our Community and its needs. We are united in helping to reach the goal for
the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital.”
To date, over $26 million has been raised towards the Because of you, we can Capital Campaign,
bringing the campaign to over 60 percent of its $43 million goal. The Rotary pledged $50,000
towards the redevelopment in March 2020.
“We are grateful to the Rotarians for their support of the redevelopment and look forward to
celebrating together in the future as we reach milestones in the completion of this exciting
project,” says Mary Thomas, CEO, SMHF.
The Because of you, we can Campaign is the largest campaign in the SMHF’s history, supporting
the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The hospital’s redevelopment plan includes
a revitalized Emergency Department, doubling the square footage of the hospital and tripling the
amount of parking space. Refreshed outpatient rooms, birthing suites and laboratory space are
also included in the plans. With an Emergency Department built to manage 7,000 visits a year
that currently manages close to 40,000 per year, along with a growing population in south Simcoe
and surrounding communities, this redevelopment is needed today and for future generations.
