Lorne and Sandy Downey Team from Coldwell Banker Ronan Realty, Participants in the Real Estate Challenge, Donate $7,500 for Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation
[New Tecumseth, ON – Dec. 7, 2022] – The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is pleased to announce that the Lorne & Sandy Downey Team from Coldwell Banker Ronan Realty has generously donated $7,500 to the Because of you, we can Campaign to help with redevelopment at Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH).
The Downey’s have a rich history in the area, with roots in the community going back to 1846. Lorne has been a real estate agent for more than 10 years, and Sandy was licensed a few years ago after a 30-year career with TD Bank. Together they are inspired by the organizations that keep our community well and are excited to give back. “We feel so fortunate to have our very own hospital in our community. We’ve had to use it several times ourselves over the course of raising 3 children and are happy to give back when we can. Our little town is growing and with it the need for a bigger, better facility. We are so pleased to be able to make this donation and help SMH to reach their goal,” remarked Lorne & Sandy Downey.
“The Lorne & Sandy Downey Team from Coldwell Banker Ronan Realty have engaged in the Real Estate Challenge at SMHF to help meet the needs of our community,” says Mary Thomas, CEO of SMHF. “Their gift of $7,500 puts us one step closer to our fundraising goals here at Stevenson. Thank you, Lorne & Sandy, for supporting our community and Stevenson Memorial Hospital.”
Earlier this year, The Morningview Foundation made a commitment to match all donations received between April 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million. These funds will go towards the Because of you, we can Campaign. The Because of you, we can Campaign is the largest campaign in the SMHF’s history, supporting the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The hospital’s redevelopment plan includes a revitalized Emergency Department, doubling the square footage of the hospital and tripling the amount of parking space. Refreshed outpatient rooms, birthing suites and laboratory space are also included in the plans. With an Emergency Department built to manage 7,000 visits a year that currently manages close to 40,000 per year, along with a growing population in south Simcoe and surrounding communities, this redevelopment is needed today and for future generations.
