Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation Achieves Success in Matching Gift Campaign, “Your Greatest Chance to Meet Our Greatest Needs,” with The Morningview Foundation and Community Support
[New Tecumseth, ON – January 24, 2024] – The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is proud to announce the GREATEST news! Thanks to The Morningview Foundation and the support from the community, once again, they have achieved success with their “Your Greatest Chance to Meet Our Greatest Needs” matching gift campaign. From July 1 – December 31, 2023, new donations to the greatest needs of Stevenson Memorial Hospital were matched by The Morningview Foundation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $750,000.
The Morningview Foundation has been a longtime supporter of Stevenson Memorial Hospital and the growing needs of its patients, families, and staff. The funds raised from the “Your Greatest Chance to Meet Our Greatest Needs” campaign are supporting the purchase of critical equipment, allowing the flexibility to invest where it is needed most to improve community healthcare.
“We’re profoundly thankful for the community’s support in the success of The Morningview Foundation’s $750,000 matching gift. The doubled impact of every donation, combined with local support, has enabled us to raise an extraordinary $1.5 million. This achievement empowers Stevenson Memorial Hospital to address its greatest needs, ensuring enhanced healthcare services for patients, families, and staff.” Mary Thomas, CEO, SMHF expressed.
“We are grateful for the continued support of The Morningview Foundation and in turn our community who have helped make this match campaign a success,” says Jody Levac, President and CEO, SMH. “Contributions such as these are so critical to the hospital as the costs for equipment needs, technology and capital infrastructure projects continue to increase. We rely on the generosity of the community to help fund these costs, which is why donations to the hospital are so important. A new hospital building for our community is very much needed, and it is donations like these that are going to help make it happen.” he adds.
The Because of you, we can Campaign is the largest campaign in the SMHF’s history, supporting the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The hospital’s redevelopment plan includes a revitalized Emergency Department, doubling the square footage of the hospital and revitalizing parking for visitors. Refreshed outpatient rooms, birthing suites and laboratory space are also included in the plans. With an Emergency Department built to manage 7,000 visits a year that currently manages close to 40,000 per year, along with a growing population in south Simcoe and surrounding communities, this redevelopment is needed today and for future generations.
